DEEPIKA KURUP INVENTS WATER PURIFIER

14 year old Deepika Kurup recently won the top prize in the 2012 Discovery Education 3M Young Scientist Challenge for her innovative work inventing a highly effective, solar powered jug that purifies contaminated water.   Here's a dynamic 5 minute video of Deepika's prize-winning lecture explaining her invention, and an article with more details.

Ms. Kurup plans to use part of her award money to save lives in India by providing clean drinking water.  Kudos to this dynamic young woman with a big brain and big heart.
